Bonjour!

Hey!

I've just found this site after developing an interest in paper modelling.

It started with purchasing a 1:400 scale Graf Zeppelin from the Zeppelin museum; before I start building that one I thought it might be a good idea to get some practice with paper builds. I've since found free versions of the 1:400 and 1:200 Graf Zeppelin, as well as a host of other aircraft, buildings and sic-fi models.

I'm also trying to find a paper model(s) of the paddle steamers like the CGN Montreux and CGN Vevey that ply the waters of Lac Leman.

I'll post a pic of my first model when it's completed.

Best Regards,

twosolitudes

Welcome to the forum. You are probably right about the need for practice.

And you have discovered the world of free downloads, too. I believe every papermodeler has the same thought, 'I'm gonna need a bigger hard drive'

Welcome

Oh yeah, there's a lot of great stuff out there. I've already saved more than I'll have time to get at in the foreseeable future.

Be sure to check out the Tips and Techniques part of the forum. Start simple and get the hang of working with paper. The good part about working with paper is you get to try the same model multiple times. It takes time to get a handle on some of the techniques so be patient and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Welcome to the site.
There are a few models of paddle wheel boats available. Some have the paddle wheels at the stern, some have them at the sides. They would give you an idea of some of the techniques used in building them.
