Hello! Theater & Sci-Fi fan here...

Hi there. My name is Rob and I like to use paper modeling techniques to make custom toys and to make large scale theater props. I'm very interested in adapting some of the "real world" models to make vintage cars, military vehicles for use onstage. Anyone seen scaled-up paper models like this?

Hi Rob! Welcome to the forum. Thanks for joining. Offhand I think there are some threads about cosplay props, I'll see if I can't find some for you to start with.

OK here we go
Reinforcing a closed model?
God of War-Blade of Chaos-

I thought we had more complete "instructions", if you will, but this is all I could find on the site after a quick search. Try doing a Google search using the term "costume play prop", or more conveniently "cosplay prop" and see what you get.

While you're here, take some time to feel comfaortable with the forum, ask questions and enjoy yourself. Glad you're here.

Dear Rob:
Some where is a Japan site with a full scale race car I think that it is Epson could be another. With the newer hardware for projecting stuff from the computer it could be able to blow up a pdf file onto large sheets of cardboard of plywood and cut and paste at full scale.
Good Luck,
Miles

When I do projects for VBS and other charity programs, I print the templates on overhead projector film, then using the overhead projector, I trace it onto cardboard. I have to paint it still, but that leads to a certain 'charm'.
