Hello
I live in Surrey BC Canada (about 20 miles south of Vancouver). I am retired and have been building card (paper) models for about 30 years. I am a member of Vancouver IPMS, and while the "P" stands for plastic, the club is the only scale model group I could find. So, here I am! |

Welcome to the site.
I visited Vancouver (my ship pulled into New Westminster) and Victoria (my ship pulled into Esquimalt) in 1975. Nice cities. There was some kind of provincial fair going on near Vancouver. Lots of exhibits and good food, especially the strawberries. There was also some kind of beer strike in the area making it difficult to get a beer.

Dear Gypsy:
You can now join several other paper models on the site who a attempting to change the P to paper. In the search block in the right corner input IPMS and some of the older posts should come up. Enjoy, Miles |

Hi Gypsy! Welcome to the site. Thanks for joining. Take your time and look around the forum (it is rather large), ask questions and enjoy yourself. Do you have pics of your models that you be willing to share? I hope so - we love pics. Hope you're willing to share some of that 30+ years of knowledge you've learned. Do you enjoy a particular genre of card models?

After all this time building card models (28+ years) what I know best is what not to do!
Each model is a whole new experience in "do-it-yourselfness". I did have an interesting experience building Wilhelmshaven's 1:250 frigate BM Bremen. There are two sea lynx aircraft, and after making all the possible mistakes on the first one, the second was a breeze. At the end of a build I frequently find myself saying "So that's how it goes together!" |
