Hello Everyone

Hello to everyone here on the forum.

I am planning on designing a paper model of Castle Rising, a medieval keep here in the UK in Norfolk.

I will use various software programs in the process and will be my very first paper model.

Regards

Clive

Dear Clive:
If you run into questions on your project (One Can never have too many castles) ask, we have people who are designers and have been where you are now.
Enjoy,
Miles

Hello Clive! Welcome to the site. Thanks for joining. Wander around in the forum; it helps you to find what you're looking for when you need it), ask questions and enjoy yourself. There are a couple of subforums that should help you get into the swing of things, First Cuts - a Lounge and Tips and Tricks. We also have a Design Forum where most of our designers hang out. We have an active group of designers who are very helpful. You should fit right in. Welcome aboard.

Thank you very much for the welcome and for your advice everyone, I'll certainly ask questions if I need to.

After looking about for some time for paper models for castles it is very obvious that these are limited to the more famous castles around the world and I soon resigned myself that I may have to design and make my own for the 'less' known ones.

Regards

Clive

If you live near the castle, a trip to the gift shop can hit paydirt sometimes. It's worth a shot. If you don't live near the castle a letter may accomplish the same thing. Again, it's worth trying. If nothing pans out, then Welcome to the Designers Corner forum!!!!

Welcome, Clive. Due to your post I googled Rising Castle - a very impressive building with an interesting history. Do you plan to model the castle in its current "ruined" state, or will you be restoring it to its prior glory? Either way, it's sure to be an eyecatching model.
