JSC 1/400 "SS United States" & SCHREIBER 1/400 "RMS QUEEN ELIZABETH 2"

Hi,

My name is Simon Williams and I am new to this group.

I am trying to get the two above subject models and others ocean liners, but right now I need the SSUS & QE2, however I don't know where to get them. I use to buy from PMI many years ago, but I don't think they are still around. I need to get these models from a supplier in the US so I can send a money order from here. Also I noticed that there are separate Laser parts for them which I'll need as well.
Do you know of anyone?

Regards,

Simon

Simon contacted me about this...but since I have very little knowledge of ship models
I suggested he post the question here.

Hey Simon
There are many ship "experts" here...I'm sure someone can help you.
Hopefully they can point you to the models.

Hi Herky,

Your right JSC made extra laser parts for the SS United States.

Hi Simon! Welcome to the site. Thanks for joining. Dave is right, we have a group of dedicated ship modelers (and a designer or two), of whom Herky is one, who should be able to answer your question for you. In the meantime, feel free to explore the forum, ask questions and enjoy yourself. Tackling ships such as the United States and the QE2 suggests that you've been a paper modeler for a while, yes? How long have you been addicted to our hobby? We're glad you're here btw. Welcome aboard.

Hi Elliot,

Thank you for welcoming me aboard.

To answer your question, I have been shipbuilding paper and plastic for a very long time, Passenger and military.

I can't believe I am having trouble getting these models, there got to be somewhere I can get them in the US. I guess PMI is no longer in business.

I also need to get the Normandie, Mauretania, and others. JSC has made laser cut parts for some of there models.

Do you have anyone you know that sells them?

Regards,

Simon

There is a Mauretania that's been made available in the download section recently.
Ships and Maritime Hardware

I'm not quite up to the level of building a ship of that size yet, but I think I'd like to have if on a shelf someday...
