Newbie Signed on
Just found this site, referred from rcgroups. Primarily interested in building RC electric flying models. Saw a post using paper models for patterns and art work.
I have built paper models before, and just about any kind of model. Hoping to be able to use my Photoshop/illustrator/3d skills from work on a build. Looking forward to looking around this site. rtcapo |

H Rtcapo,
As a paper model designer, I frequently 'lurk' in the RCGroups looking for ideas and tips on how to design the internal framework of the aircraft. Welcome to the forums. Eric |

Hi there! Welcome to the site. Thanks for joining.
Feel free to explore the forum, ask questions and enjoy yourself. Have you made many paper models? I don't know how many RC'ers we have here but I do know we have several pop up from time to time. Hope you find what you are looking for. We're glad you're here. Welcome aboard.

Made a few paper models, mostly airplanes. A few years ago when the internet opened up and I found fiddlers green.
I do a lot of work on photoshop at work. i would like to do some custom repaints and scale them up for flying. Also did some 3d modeling too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wNO1OP36B8 In the back of my mind i use to think it would be easier to photoshop the skins...but after building and flying rc planes...helping to restore a 1958 Cessna 172...thinking it's easy and doing the "easy" way always turns out longer! Like today, I've always had a soft spot for a Volvo pv 444/544 since the movie "The World According to Garp". This first time I saw it, I said: "What the heck is that?" After researching, forgetting, digging up old files...and then searching for a "easy" restore job...I thought, that would be easy. Then I read about a guy who started to restore a PV544 just the way I'd want it. Running good inside...look like a college kid's heap on the outside. He bought it for $1000 and put about 8K just to keep it running in a "sleeper" condition...after about 6 years of work. Anyway, I think I'm a better modeler than mechanic. Thanks for the rant, boys. rtc Last edited by rtcapo; 12-03-2014 at 07:18 PM. Reason: proof read |
