Hello from Seattle
I am new to the forum but not new to card modeling. Been doing this since the 1960s. It has always been a good use of time. I must say that compared to those days with so few choices of sources for kits the internet has expanded the market.
I primarily model in the HO scale with a leaning to the early 20th century. Thanks for listening Michael |

Feel free to explore the forum, ask questions and enjoy yourself. Do you have pictures of your paper models builds that you'd be willing to post? If so, we'd love to see them. We love pics and build threads. We're glad you're here. Welcome aboard.

Welcome to the site.
A good thing about paper models is you can rescale them to what you need.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. My modeling ranges from structures to sometimes aircraft. I use a variety of software and imaging programs to achieve the final product. Alas, I have no finished builds to share at this point but we are working on freelancing a model of a Zesto's Drive-in that should fit with the look and spirit of the site in Ballard across from BHS where I misspent a portion of misspent youth.
One bit of software that I use is a utility called Scale Print. I choose a photographic image, typically a jpg and assign a dimension to any 2 points on the photo. This allows me the ability to input a scale such as 1:87 for example and by whatever brand of "smoke and mirrors" that this utility uses it will print out to that scale. Quite handy! |

Well at least the Zesto's building is still there if not the signage. Plus the chicken tacos at the place that is now there are pretty good! The scale print utility sounds useful. I will look it up.
I am in Ballard!! |

Hey Mike, enjoying the sun?
Its been raining every now and then here in Kenmore. I just got back from airplane spotting at Renton Municipal Airport and it was drizzling... It should be sunny next week. -RunwayOneSixRight (Matthew) |

To all,
Scale Print is a utility that is vended by RailDriver. And was made to use with Cyclopedia drawings. Another set of software which I use is a program called Model Builder. This master program and it's associated plug-in programs allow a wide and varied latitude to the card modeling experience. Just think of it and you can print the kit. There is a slight learning curve to get it just right. Michael |
