It's been a long time

Hi guys

More than a year has passed since I last had time to visit the site and forum. Things got so busy it is hard to remember when I last enjoyed time off !! But now I am soon to become a pensioner (2 months), so I now have time once again to think in terms of paper modelling. Looking forward to it.

Welcome back !
Enjoy your retirement but be aware that life problems will still interfere with your hobbies.
Since I retired, I have had one major illness and we have been caregivers for 3 relatives.
We still have one of the relatives living with us.
Being young enough to work is better.

Some times a young person will tell me that they wish that they were retired.
I ask them if they wish that they were 75 ?
And of course they do not want to be 75.

Welcome back.

I'm retiring next week, so have a few things to get caught up on. Then hoping I can join you in having much more time for modeling.

Welcome back. I thought I would have more time when I retired. You'll find that since people will think you have nothing better to do, there will be the never ending can you this or that for me.

Welcome back. I too am looking at retirement next year. About six to eight more months. Really looking forward to it.
I have time now to do some modeling, but what takes me months now, I hope one day will take only weeks. Guess time will tell. Then again, once retired, what's the rush.

The vision of retirement was getting up when it was convenient, leisurely having coffee and reading the paper, then pursuing one's own interests as the whim struck. The reality is that each day seems so full of errands and chores that it's hard to imagine how there ever was time for a full-time job. Yes, part of the problem is other people presuming that you have time to do them favors. Certain women equate retirement with constant housework -- with themselves as commanding officers and husbands as corporals. And gobs of additional people will have endless ideas for how to spend your time. So prepare yourself now to refuse them firmly, or you'll never get to the modeling and other hobbies you want.

I've actually considered finding another full time job just to get some rest.

Enjoy the time.
It's been a long time since I rock and rolled, it's been a long time since I did the Stroll.
