Hello from Holland

Hi all,

I've been building wooden ship models for almost 10 years. Last year I devoloped a sudden allergy for wood dust, so I had to look for other materials to work with. This brought me to the fascinating world of paper modeling.

I'm still amazed by what can be done with this material and am enjoying the great projects on this forum.

Some time ago I bought the Papegojan kit from the polish company Shipyard. The build was started during the christmas holiday and I will start a thread here soon.

Special thanks to friend and member Abhovi who made me aware of this forum.

Arjan

Hi Arjan,

I had the same experience (although no allergic reaction to wood dust): I had been building wooden ships for some time and due to a temporary lack of space (moving to another place) tried some paper modelling. By coincidence found this forum (i was searching for a specific model), and just started my first thread. I am still amazed of the detail and craftmanship shown by some of the modelers on this forum. A great place for inspiration and useful comments. Enjoy!

Greetings from a fellow dutchman,
Oscar

Hallo Arjan,

Greetings from another Dutchman. Welcome to this site, look around and be amazed. Simply everything can be built from paper. I started paper modeling at the age of 10 or something, changed over to plastic in my teens, took a long break of around 10 years and then rediscovered the hobby of my childhood again. Ever since I've been building quite regularly. It's fun to start a thread and it keeps you motivated!

See you,
Erik

Welcome to the forum. There have been some amazing sailing ship builds here...the problem is when I compare their finished builds to mine, I sometimes wonder why I'm trying. I'm looking forward to seeing your build thread...I need the inspiration about now.
