Hello all! New user from Michigan!
Hello, everyone, my name is Justin. I have been a long time plastic ship and aircraft model builder. I recently came across some paper kits on Ebay, and was shocked at the detail. I did not know that these type of highly detailed kits even existed. I figured Id give it a try. I picked up the 1/200 Modelik USS Oakland, and the 1/400 JSC SS. Edmund Fitzgerald. Any tips that you can send a new-to-paper modeler, would be greatly appreciated!

hiya, great another ship builder.first advise is to scan all the parts pages into pc so you can run copy pages for when the inevitable deliberate mistake happens lol.if it was me i would do the jsc model first as i find jsc models are gnerally simpler to build,.

Welcome, Justin. There are a lot of ship builders here that will help out.

First, make scans of everything before you get started. If there is an error, you can print a new part.
Two, try a couple free models out there to get a feel for how paper works

I was already thinking I should probably scan them all first. I also had thought it might be best to take on the JSC kit first.

Hello and welcome!
I'd also advise you to scan first unless you want to play hardcore :D
