Short time lurker, first time poster
Hey guys!
I'm Ward and I'm from Southern California. I got into papercrafting about 3 years ago as a way to keep busy while laid up in bed in recovery from a surgery. Since then, I've kept up a solo practice in the hobby, building small cities for use in D&D and a star wars rpg as well. I've happily learned the terms 'pepakura,' bastelbogen,' and others, and have inspiration to contribute to the community that I've benefited from by rendering several of my own local landmarks in 3D paper form. Well hello and welcome. Doesn't matter what type of model your into, as long as its paper, this is the place to be. There are so many people that belong to this site that are true craftsmen, I'm not one. Just look around, you'll quickly see what I mean.

Welcome. Local landmarks, cities and Star Wars are all phrases that perk my interest.

Ok, some Instagram examples
Here's some papercraft I've attempted over the years:
This was the first model I consciously made with papercrafting in mind. It came up with a google image search, which has been responsible for me getting into more than one hobby: Rudy and the Bomb Here's an ersatz Mos Eisley I put together using different models I've dredged from the internet over the years: a Paper Tiger (I think) mosque among them. A view of the street with 2D character flats and Momir Farooq AT-ST: that thing killed one of our party members, and destroyed the cantina! Some of Squirmydad's paper ironclads sailing the dappled sea of acrylic paint on repurposed boardgames, with a hastily constructed cereal box fort of my own design -- no templates beyond a google search for Fort Sumter War Artisan ships on the same sea! The first papercraft I paid for, I'm happily building a Napoleonic fleet after enjoying making some of the free sample Dutch ships. Gall's Corner: my D&D campaign is currently adventuring here, among the mixed German and Dutch papercraft buildings (and a modified Canon windmill to boot) Lastly, my first project in a sculpture class early this year: we had to upscale a figurine and I had a die cast B-24 handy. It's imprecise, but was a lot of fun! It really isn't papercraft as I made it using wire & papier-mache, but I liked it enough to include in this post. Those Ghost of Man models are great. I used them in my cantina diorama, too.

Hi Charles! Welcome to the forum. Thanks for joining. Love the models you posted above, particularly the Mos Eisley scene. You seem pretty well settled in so I'll just say we're glad you're here. Welcome aboard!
