Hi
Looking to learn from fellow members. I am mainly interested in ships in quite a small scale, 1:600. Partly for space reasons and partly for compatibility with Airfix plastic for nostalgia reasons. Because of the scale I am interested in scaling techniques and also the use of hybrid materials, such as photoetch, 3D print and scratch building in other materials to put back some of the detail lost with the downsizing of the paper model.

Hello and welcome. Doesn't matter if it's 1/600 scale ship models, or a huge 1/24 scale aircraft model, this is the place to look and to learn. Look through the site and see the vast amount of true master craftsmen display here. But not to worry if your not one of them, I'm not. Just enjoy the hobby for what it is, a hobby.

Hi Morvern! Welcome to the forum. Thanks for joining. Two places where you should begin your learning/searching are the First Cuts - A Lounge and the Tips and Tricks subforums. Both are chock full of information to help get you started. Also the Search function will help you look for specific things. We're glad you're here. Welcome aboard!
