Greetings from sunny Florida

Hi folks,

My name is Wayne. I am a 45-year old kid with a serious addiction to building things. I've been a modeler for 35+ years, and I don't really specialize. I build whatever looks like fun. I have a very small Model Railroad, and I tinker with RC cars and model rockets. I play wargames (WW2, American Civil War, SciFi, Fantasy), and music (bass and saxophone). I'm also an admin on Rogue Market.com, a gaimng trading and general resource community.

I've been using World Works card building and accessory models in my fantasy gaming for about 3 years, now, so I'm not really new to paper modeling. I also used a lot of Dover buildings on my railroad when I was 10 or so.

Recently, I was introduced to Radio-Controlled Model Warship Combat (1/144th scale balsa ships with CO2 powered BB cannons). I bought a couple of plans to build a combat ship, and wrestled with hull lines and such, and even cut up a couple of plastic model hulls to get the lines, but it's a lot of work. A friend, who owns the local hobby shop, recommended that I take a look at some paper ships he was working on. This is much easier and less expensive than slicing up plastic ship kits. In the meantime, I seem to have gotten hooked on these cardboard models. Another hobby...

I work as a machinist for a small plastics manufacturer to pay for my hobbies, and to support my lovely wife in the manner to which she has become accustomed (More Ramen Noodles, Dear?).

I'll just say that I'm glad to have found this site. I'll be around the boards, sometimes posting, but mostly lurking and sucking up all the ideas I can. Thanks.

Thanks all. Glad to be here. I'm expecting a Maly Modelarz ORP Conrad in the mail in the next couple of days, and I'll be scaling it up to 1/144, and building the hull from balsa. I'll put some pics up as I get started. Thanks again.

I'll also be building the 1/200 scale kit as it comes, so I'll try to give a review as I go along.

In brief, a traditional Jack-of-all-trades...in modelism, of course!

Welcome!
