Back after far too many years!

Once upon a time.... I was a moderately active paper/card modeller. Nothing survives, except a couple of boxes of unmade kits and some unmade downloads. The building stoppage didn't stop me occasionally buying a new kit to add to those boxes, so now I am proposing to get started again I suspect I have more than enough 'in stock' to see out the rest of my life (bet that won't stop me buying, though!). Having been retired many years (I am aged 76) and not too long ago become a widower, I now only have myself to account for, so at least I can put in some hours and leave half-finished things lying around "until tomorrow" without being grumbled at! My interests are wide - aviation including airships, architecture, motorised boats and ships, railways, road vehicles, lighthouses.... I shall be spending some time in the next few days working through many of the posts on this forum, looking for useful hints, tips, warnings, etc., and admiring other folk's builds. I will try and post a few pix as and when my own builds get under way.

Hi there Cardiac! Welcome to the forum and thank you for joining. Two places you'll probably want to take a gander at are the First Cuts - A Lounge and the Tips & Tricks subforums. Both contain lots of good info for someone (re)entering the hobby. We're glad you''re here. Welcome aboard!

Well hello and welcome back. You sound like a lot of us here. Into the Hobby years ago, then came back to it.
No matter what, enjoy.

Hi, Cardiac,
We have much in common - I'm 75 yrs. old, retired, have boxes of things I plan to build, which, at this point, will probably last me several lifetimes, and also have many and varied interests, and have just joined this group, also. Welcome aboard!

Thanks, guys, for the welcomes

Title says it all, really! I will indeed look at First Cuts and Hints and Tips. And I will post some pix once I get rolling. Visited a local model rail show today and, guess what, I came away with three more card kits to add to my stock. So, I really, really must get slicing! Cheers.
