Hello all!

Hello everyone

Haven’t tried paper modeling yet, but I have experience in scale plastic models, stick and tissue rubberband airplanes as well as RC.

Looking forward to learning a new skill

Tom

Welcome Tom. Your modelling background sounds exactly like mine. Be warned- you will find paper/card 10 times more addictive than all those put together!

Welcome to the fantastic world of paper, have fun, here is everything and very nice people. If you snoop around you will see incredible things. A couple of tips, simple models at the beginning to learn how to manipulate the paper, watch the tutorials, construction threads and Ask, ask and question, someone will always answer and guide you, there are very friendly people here. If you print, cut and paste I can assure you that you will love this branch of modeling.

Welcome, sounds like you've got the basic background of many of us that wander into the paper model field. Lots of us still bounce around in media and use pieces interchangeably.

Hello and welcome aboard. Your background is so similar to I would guess most of us here. Like the other materials you modeled in, paper is very rewarding. How can someone take a flat piece of paper, or cardstock, and make it into something with so many compound curves and such.
As you progress you will learn all the ins and outs and all the little secrets.
Always remember. This is a hobby, a hobby is to be enjoyed and to have fun doing.

So, have fun

Ah, stick and tissue...my #1 love. Welcome. I was surprised how much paper models helped my knife work on the balsa models. No more sanding down to the line, now I cut to the line!
Enjoy!
