Good Afternoon (first Post)
Hello all
Had to register for info. Ok, so my models are not like yours, I am into Kiragami, Folding and cutting paper. Bit like origami but using cuts as well. Sometimes called Architectural pop ups. However, I'm at a stage of getting to fine detail work and have been looking at your site for circle cutting and detail cutting of down to 1.5/2mm work in paper/card. I tend to use card of 160- 260 gsm. Any advice would be gratefully received. Peter |

Welcome. If it is paper we will love it. What is your first name (if you don't mind). Where are you from? Do you understand English well? How did you find out about this forum?

Welcome Peter, I think I know what you do, I'm not sure but I think I saw something of that. I can not help you because I do not know anything about it. Someone will do it for sure, publish a photo to have more references. There are many experts here. , some will surely answer you. Welcome to the forum

Hello and welcome to the site.
Look for something called a screw punch to make small holes. They usually come with a set of punches from 1.5 mm up to 4 mm. Some places offer additional sizes of punches.

I think those are also called Book Punches, they are readily available on ebay and amazon. They are great, but just a hint, use them with a circle template to make sure they are aligned properly.

Hi All...thank you for your welcomes...reading between the lines of your comments I guess most of you are states side. If so..well I'm from other side of the pond, that is, the ones who gave you Independence...after you kicked the ... out of us, way back.. To get back on you good side though I let my son marry a stunning US girl from Bloomington, Indiana.
As for cutting, I have some of the kit you are talking of, but really looking now for parts of holes..ie semicircles. I have a feeling it's going to be down to practice with a scalpel knife. Will try to fathom how to put up some pictures of what I do. Sorry.. try to do. Peter Last edited by Woodpecker1; 06-29-2018 at 02:32 PM. Reason: spelling.. not my strong point |
