Welcome to the forum.

Now that you're here, there's no escape. Welcome to your new hobby.

For those who don't know, Flagirl is my girlfriend and has joined here to keep track of my Scud build as we don't live together. She's already shown an interest in paper modelling. We already had a lot of similar interests but now we have one more...

I guess you could say I've hit the jackpot.

And that, people, is how we lure new blood into our realms...

Well done - a good model. Good clean build1

Look around - there are models available for literally everything - from buildings, though flowers to birds.

If you fancy something and cannot find it, just ask here and someone will generally have the answer!

Thanks babe! I hope I make you proud I really did enjoy building this and see why you are so fascinated with this hobby. It's something that I really knew nothing about and appreciate you sharing with me. Now I can only hope to be able to follow in your shoes with the craftsmanship and creativity that you bring to your builds.

Thank you also to all of you for your encouragement and kind words. This is just the beginning, I'll definitely being doing more builds and can't wait to share them with you... even if the next one is a duck or something lol

Tell me about it... my first model wasn't anywhere up to that standard, in fact I don't think it even made it through the laminating to thicker card stage, it was a complete disaster.

Took me about 3 hours to do lol but was pretty simple and I enjoyed it. So I guess that's a win! I look forward to doing others. Thanks again!

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Paper models are generally organic/curvy or rectilinear/boxy. Sometimes a combination of the two. I don't remember who posted that when I was working on aircraft at my start in this hobby, and they recommended these models to work on my curved surfaces, and it worked!

The model looks really good

Hello and welcome.

Your first build, and it only took three hours. That’s it, I’m done. I can’t compete with that!!

Just kidding. For a first attempt it’s fantastic. You will find all sorts of helpful people here. If you have a quaestoon, don’t be afraid to ask, someone will have an answer or help in some way.

Really?? Only three hours?? First atempt???

If you like simplistic paper animals Flagirl ... can I refer you here ...

Tiny Paper Zoo

You'll need an iPhone or iPad to get at them though. I used a friend's.

Disclaimer ... That thread is four years old and I still don't have any Apple hardware so I can't check if they are still available.

I reckon you should just build the Scud rather... A quick 32 hours and you should be finished!
