Cool New to this

Hi all, I've joined to track the progress of a friends build. Can't wait to see how it comes out along with other projects you all complete along the way!

Hi All,

And hi, Flagirl727, and welcome to the forum.

In high school, I was on a co-ed fencing team, and we had a lot of fun jabbing at each other every Tuesday night during the school year. We also traveled around the state and competed against college teams, as there were no other fencing programs in the other area high schools. I've also watched fencing competitions on television on the rare occasions that it was being shown. My point of all this is that fencing is a lot more fun to do than to watch on TV.

The same can be said about paper modeling, too. Rather than just being an interested bystander, why not pick up a hobby knife, a pair of scissors and some glue and start building some of the freely available models that are readily found on the internet. Sure, you'll make some mistakes on your first few tries, but you'll quickly learn the simple techniques and with the help of the talented and generous members of this forum, you'll receive all the help you can ask for.

Worth a thought, yes?

Score and fold,

Thumb Dog

Welcome to the forum! Thanks for joining.
Even if you come only to watch, don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
But remember you are always welcome to comment on any model you see here, not only your friend's. We're happy to to receive feedback.

Wow, thanks all for the great welcome and encouragement! I've always been a crafter of different sorts which is what interested me in watching his ideas and creativity come to life in the first place. I've already seen enough to wonder what types of projects may be available for me to try. I'll be sure to post about it if/when I do decide to pick it up. Thanks again

If you want to give it a whirl, I would start with the little one-page Canon animals, Pet Series - Animals - Paper Craft - Canon Creative Park. It gives you a chance to see how paper behaves, and even if you mess up, they will still be cute (and easy to give away)

Thanks, Vermin... why not, I'll give it a try. Let's see how this goes.

So I checked out the link you posted, found something I liked and gave it a go. Here's my first ever paper model.

Took me about 3 hours to do lol but was pretty simple and I enjoyed it. So I guess that's a win! I look forward to doing others. Thanks again!
