Welcome to the group! Nice job on the tiger! My first build most definitely didn't end that well. You won't find a more supportive group of people any where else.

Check out the Links tab at the upper right of the page. There are many sites listed there with free models and models for sale. Many different subjects.
Here is a site that lists a lot of sites to get models. Some of the links might not be working, though. Free Paper Toys, Paper Models and Paper Crafts at ss42.com There is a section on buildings there. Schreiber-Bogen is a publisher that has a lot of buildings. The skill level for those range from beginner to advanced. There are a few build threads for S-B buildings here on Paper Modelers.

You can also go to Papermau Blogspot. Mauter is a member here and his site has more possibilities than you can build in a lifetime.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the info/links on the different sites that are available, that's really helpful. I'm going to look around and see what they have. Any of you working on something right now that you would like to share with me? Would love to see what everyone's doing. Kevin, I wouldn't mind trying a bird. I tried to do the Koala from the Canon site I think it was and it failed miserably lol. I need to get some thicker paper and try again. I guess I shouldn't say it was a fail, it was a learning experience.. which I'm sure I'll have plenty more of as I go along.

I have a whole lot more projects started than finished. Have you discovered AirDave's Koolwheelz? They can be a lot of fun.
Many of my projects can be found at onemonk.com. I've posted a few projects (mostly for 30mm wargamers) here and at Home | Cardboard Warriors forum. My projects are of limited interest except to me, mostly Goto Kei has some nice animals at 図工:ペーパークラフトã§æ£®ã®ç”Ÿãã‚ ‚ã®ä½œã‚Šï¼ | 森ã®ãょã†ã—㤠- 三井物産

Hi All,
And hi, Flagirl 727. You mentioned getting some thicker paper, and selecting the right cardstock can be a real poser. I like to build larger vintage models, and for the sake of strength I often use a 110 lb. cardstock. This would be too heavy for many smaller models and for them I'll use either a 65 lb. card or a 67 lb. card. I've attached a pair of photographs showing some of the product available from Neenah. I look for a cardstock with a smooth finish, as it seems to give the best prints for modeling. Ultimately, the choice of paper is a personal preference and a bit of experimentation is worth the effort. Score and fold, Thumb Dog |
