Winters are cold here in Canada, already had snow,but it melted, which is nice. I thought I would try paper ( card ) modeling as a clean? indoor pursuit.
I have a question about printers and paper weight and perhaps someone could direct me to the proper forum.

If you do a search on this forum, there are a lot of discussions regarding printers and cardstock weights. Usually cardstock weight depends on what scale and type of model you'll be building.

Hello and welcome. The best part about about card modeling in the north country, if it gets too cold and you run out of wood, you can always burn paper. LOL!!

Welcome, calmonty. Here is a great deal of information about cardstock. It may be a bit much for a beginner, so here’s my recommendation: Buy a package of 65 or 67 lb. cardstock, or 65 lb Bristol vellum. This material is auitable for most models. The exceptions are very small models (such as 1:300 aircraft, 1:100 trucks, etc.) or models with very large, flat panels, such as architecture models where the size of one wall is close to the size of a letter / A4 sheet of paper. For the very small models, I use a high-quality stationery paper similar to bond paper. For the big slabs, try 95 lb paper, or reinforcing the big slabs from the back with light cardboard (like cereal box cardboard).
