Hello from Vancouver BC, Canada

Hello from Vancouver BC, Canada.
I have joined some forums like this over the last few years.
Currently and seems like for way toooooooo long I've been working on a Cessna 172
Paper model that I found free online. I added my own modifications to stiffen some parts of the body, fishing weight in the front, springy wire to the main gear and free turning propeller. Going to add more wire to the wing struts and hopefully complete it soon.
I am in search of a Dash 8 Q 400 with Air Canada livery. Not having any luck with finding a Q400 in any livery. I want to make it a big model 1:20 or so, so I can use tin can and such to spot weld or rivet parts together using the paper model as template.
Paint after and mount it on a pole outside as a weather vane.
Any help would be appreciated finding one.
Thanks for any help and pointers.

Hello and Welcome.

I believe you may find what you are looking for over in the Aviation forum, there's also a few guys over there who might be able to help with the livery, if it hasn't already been done.

You might want to start here

Welcome aboard.

A great looking 172. Nice work. Arron Murphy (Murph's Models) has a Dash 8 model (not in Air Canada). It could be re-painted.

Thank you all for your greetings.
I wanted a Q400 because my daughter was a Captain on the Q400 with Air Canada Jazz.
And wanted to build a weather vane for her deck on a post.

Hello and welcome. Nice looking Cessna you've got going there.
Sounds like a great project, a weather vane. id love to see that, even if its not made of paper.

Yes, I just don't know how to make the scale bigger from the 1:55 size.
Maybe I am over complicating things, I want to have sealed bearings for the propellers so they last longer in the outside environment. Spray paint the model to protect it when finished. Any ideas from anyone would be great.
I am pretty new to this forum or any so not sure if this spot is the right one or if it needs to move to a different thread? Please point me in the right direction.

Nooby dooby doo!
Kris
