Hello from UK

Thanks for letting me join the forum.

A week or so ago I was browsing a twitter feed and saw a model that someone was creating of the International Space Station - out of paper . I hopped through a few other links as saw what other people had created using paper and it has sparked an interest, or should I say rekindled an old hobby from my younger years (when I was in my early teens I used to build Airfix models).

Just been reading the Beginner's Toolbox thread and now have a little shopping list.

I'd like to be able to use card from packaging that would otherwise go for recycling as opposed to buying card, not sure if that's doable, suppose I'll find out soon.

Thanks, I also need to decide on my first project.

I've downloaded a very basic set of shapes for the Hubble Space Telescope so I think I'll do that first then take it from there.

Welcome. Using card from old boxes etc is quite doable. Especially for buildings, where cereal boxes come in handy.

For an example have a look at the models here which all use paper laminated to cereal boxes..... There some free models to try which illustrate how the card is used.
