hi

hey everyone, I found this site whilst looking for new challenges, I am currently obsessed with the paper birds by Johan Scherft, I work in a primary school and plan to secretly place the birds around the school and then make up a spotter sheet for the children to fill out as they find/see the birds.

Hi Stephen and welcome.

Have you made any birds yet? That's a great idea to place them around the school.......

Maybe also consider rewarding the children with fact sheets or something similar.

Some of Johan's birds also have interesting stories or backgrounds to them that may well appeal to children if retold appropriately.

For example, there is a story about how the Hoopoe got its crown on the build thread I did here (last page)......

Hoopoe - Johan Scherft

Welcome, look the threads of Kevin, the birds of Johan are fabulous and Kevin builds them beautifully. There should be threads of other boys also out there, but there is so much to see here that it is impossible to see everything.

Thanks guys, I think I've attached a few pics, should be the kingfisher, wren and a pair of firecrest ( which is great because we have a pair nesting on the school grounds )

Thought I would show you guys a display a made for the heat teachers office, our classrooms are named after animals, ladybirds and butterflies, robins and puffins, rabbits and chipmunks, koalas and penguins, crocodiles and sharks, giraffes and zebras, lions and tigers. Only problem is that I can't find a realistic puffin to build.
