Welcome. People tell me I'm funny, but then looks aren't everything.

'ullo John. Anuvver cranky ol' Brit 'ere. 'ave ya found the Forum map yet? https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?m...C76.728516&z=4

I'm the lonely one in North Wales. Cockney by birth, but after 30+ years in the Army, I didn't like what I came home to, so I'm doing a "Deerhunter" retirement thing in Snowdonia. Whereabout are you? Stick a pin in the map to let us all know.

Hello from a currently 'bracing' NE Scotland. Enjoy this forum, there's lots to see and do.

Hi JohnM,
Brought up the map -- that's a whole heap o' Paper Modelers! I couldn't see how to "stick a pin in it" though! Originally from Merseyside (the Wirral), I now live near Leicester. My wife is a Londoner. My sister lives in North Wales, but in one of the more refined 'Border raider' areas! 30 years in the army is a l-o-o-o-n-g time...
J
[EDIT] Thought I'd found a way of inserting a 'pin' -- apparently my name has been changed to 'Point 1635'. Has a nice ring to it, don't ya think?

I found your pin no problem John, so I guess you found out how to change the label OK. Nice field you live in ... but I guess it ain't prudent to place an accurate pin in these ID pinching times, eh?

Yeah, 30+ years in the mob was a long time, but I loved the life. I even admit to enjoying the many 'Active Service' bits. I just missed the call up at 18 so I volunteered anyway. Tried to extend beyond 50, but they told me to go away and spend my not inconsiderable pension. Hence the reason I was drunk when they piled me on that plane. I've been a civvy for 22yrs now, but I've never really settled into the way of life. Hence my retirement to the mountains. You can almost hear the Theme to Deerhunter in the background can't ya?
