New From Las Vegas

Hi.

Former Navy Aircrew-man (S3A, P3B and SH3H) who hasn't built a model of any kind since grade school 45 years ago. I will be starting from scratch. Any suggestions where to go to for the most basic start would be appreciated. I was looking for previously mentioned "tutorials" but I don't see a link anywhere. Thanks

which particular tutorial are you looking for?

and depending on your interests, we can guide you to the appropriate model(s), so what are your interests?

Hello, Thewookie. A good place to start if you're itching to get started is Canon Creative Park;

https://creativepark.canon/en/

Hundreds of free downloads for builders of all levels of proficiency. Some categories have a dedicated Beginner section. And there are some How to Make Papercrafts videos too which are very good.

Welcome!

There’s a TON of free models available on ecardmodels.com, which is owned by one of this corum’s members and staffed by a bunch more. What’s your interest; many of us can point you to a good “starter kit”.
Set up an account at fiddlersgreen.net, and Scott,the owner, will drop three free models into your folder. Lastly, there are plenty of downloads available here on the forum. Really, the question isn’t how to get started, but what would you like to try first?

Rick - There used to be tutorials by Carl Beetz, Dan Dusek, and others here in the Forum, but I can't find them now. Don

Thanks. Doing the full time job so can’t tespond day to day. Seems to me I received a note or pop up when I signed up recommending tutorials but based on a separate posts looks like they’re not around anymore.

I tend to go for aviation or ships. I’ll check out some of the links above.

Welcome to the family. Try the tips and tricks section as well as first cuts in the Cardboard longe section here and you can gather a wealth of information. Also, don't hesitate to ask as there are many well experienced members willing to help.
