Backups seem like a waste of time until you need them.

About once a month, I use a portable hard drive to back up my computer.

Just bought my 3rd portable hard drive and have not had a crash yet.

I am beginning to think that computers only crash if they do not have backups.

Don't forget that your old thread is still available with all your pictures Mikey.

the all new bugs bunny from hot wheels! From this thread click on your old name to get into the profile, then click on 'statistics' , then 'find all posts by ... ' . this will give you access to all your old posts and pictures.

It should be possible to recapture a lot of your stuff from your old computer too. If you remove the hard drive you can get a cable to convert it to an external USB drive. Then by plugging it into your new computer, you should be able to access all your old files. Don't forget to unplug it during a boot up though ... the operating system on it will confuse the new computer.

Once you've recovered all the files you want onto the new PC, it's best to then do a full reformat on the old drive in order to clean it up before you use it as a second store or even as a backup drive.

Best of luck with it, and I look forward to seeng more of Lola.
