Saturn V

Hi Everyone,
I am a paper modeler from Bangalore, India. I began this wonderful hobby in 2002 and it went on until 2009. During the period I built a few modeld of the Long March 2F with Shenzhou, 1:48 Mercury Redstone, a 1:480 Saturn V, some others like SLV-3, ASLV and PSLV from India, but they werent really accurate.

I have decided to restart the hobby primarily thanks to Alfonso Moreno from AXM Papermodels. His highly accurate versions of Indian launch vehicles have motivated me.

I am also on the lookout for a well detailed, 1-1.5 feet tall paper model of Saturn V if anyone can point me in the right direction. If its free, then its even better

There is a Saturn V here in the downloads section (under real space, manned). Printed as-is would be a 1:96 scale (and be around 6 ft tall). If you print it at a reduced size (66.67%) you will get a 1:144 scale Saturn V that'll be right around 3 feet.

For me, that was much easier to manage than an attempted 1:200 scale (print at 48%) as I thought it was an easier build. My skills have improved since then so I may try again...

To answer your question though 1:200 scale is in the size you are asking about, as it is just under 2 feet in height. Good cutting (and post some pictures )

A 1/96 scale Saturn V is just over 45 inches tall.
A 1/144 scale Saturn V is just over 30 inches tall.

I stand corrected, sorry. Next time I'll use a tape measure for the whole stack. I was taking the length of the engines into account as well. I have them displayed horizontally across two bookshelves. I just kind of ballparked the total height.

There's a 1:500 scale version at The Lower Hudson Valley Paper Model E-Gift Shop (The Lower Hudson Valley Paper Model E-Gift Shop - Photo Gallery - Apollo Spacecraft). This is a bit smaller than you're looking for, but maybe you could print it 2x size?

Or you could print Ton's 1:96 version at 1/2 size or smaller. The lander might be harder to build, but the rocket should be manageable at 50%. I was able to build the first stage at 30% a few years ago.

And then there's the Paper Replika version, should be about 15" tall at 1:300: Saturn V Rocket and Launch Pad Paper Model

Thanks everyone for the help. I think i'll go with the paper replika version for now and then perhaps Ton's version.

If you are using a desktop computer, there should be a [Downloads] tab in the upper right corner of the screen (above the login box).
