Hi there all. First time member, long time model builder. I have been building 'plastic' models for most of my life, but have since found the amazing world of 'Paper' models. And it seems to be bigger than the Plastic one. So many subjects and good scales as well.

Welcome !

Paper model scale is not carved in stone.

They can be enlarged or reduced to suit your taste.

Reduction is usually easier than enlargement.

I think most of us did plastic models at some point,I don't think there is any shame in it.

Different sides of the same hobby,that's how I see them.A bit like sports cars collectors vs classic car collectors,or handgun vs rifle sport shooters.Each to their own at appropriate moment in life .

I went from doing plastic models to only working in paper these days due to health concerns, one thing I like about paper modeling everything we use is non toxic.

Hello and welcome. There's more than a few Kiwi's here. I was born there but have lived most of my life across the ditch in Aus.

I built plastic models as a kid then again in my early 20s but turned to paper due to the excessive cost of plastic kits. I've recently started building plastic again after picking up some bargain kits at a couple of model shows. There's no shame in it, it's just a different medium, I like to combine different modeling styles, I recently scratch built a paper interior for a plastic Bradley IFV.

First of all meece, totally agree with you on the healthy side of paper modelling. Secondly, jaffro, nice to hear from you. Good idea on using the card interior details for the Bradley IFV. Certainly a LOT cheaper, and the detail in the paper models is just as good as anything in plastic.
