Hello from Pennsylvania
Hello,
2020 is here and it is time for me to jump in and start building paper models. I am a novice at it. So there will be a lot to learn from you guys but I am really excited to get started. I am basically at this time setting up a desk for paper modeling and gathering all the basic tools. I have interests in Aviation, Boats primarily but I would like to explore! I live near Lancaster, PA about 40 miles west of Philadelphia in the rural amish country. I have had experience with plastic models a long time ago, now looking at a new way of modeling (for me). I enjoy watching builds on YouTube of polish models, the ones built like a plastic model, with heavy cardstock. For now, a cube or a Canon beginner project will do Tony |

Welcome.
You live in one of the best places in the country for a paper modeler. In May, the Paper Modelers Show will be held during Army Heritage Days in Carlisle, PA. Don Boose will provide more information as it becomes available. |

Hey Tony,
Thanks for joining, I hope we can help you make sense of the hobby, and any questions you might have. Seeing that you in Lancaster, you might be interested to know of two events within driving distance related to paper modeling 1. Army Heritage Days at the US Army Heritage Museum and Education Center over Armed Forces Weekend in May, in Carlisle PA We have displayed paper models for the past 10 years there, and look forward to returning for year 11. 2. International Paper Model Convention in Sterling VA. A one day gathering of paper models and model builders, and usually a raucous time. Just the Auction alone would be worth the price of Dinner. International Paper Modelers Convention is where you can get particulars

While my current location is not Pennsylvania, I was born and raised there and still consider myself a Pennsylvanian.
