Lightbulb Rc kitbash

Hi all!
Many thanks for letting me join, seems like this is the place I have been looking for, what a fantastic resource! I have already been thoroughly enjoying reading into builds that aren’t even what I’m “in to”.
If fairly new to this form of modelling other than of course general paper fiddling 😂 the etiquette and ethics around modding/changing people’s existing plans is something I’d really like to learn more about, I’m sure I have made the mistake before joining here of using “pirated” models. I really looked forward to finding the right resources etc and doing my builds properly. I mostly like to kitbash models to fit micro rc vehicles. Really excited to find some more ideas for models to get cracking with on here!
Again thanks for having me! Any advice is eagerly welcomed.... hopefully one day I will have my own to reciprocate with.

Happy building!
Rich.

Start with what subjects interest you...RC Vehicles?...boats? planes? cars?

And fill us in on what "micro" means...scalewise?

Adapting anybody's model for your own use is completely "legal".
Nobody can stop you from editing, modding, kitbashing, or completely destroying someone else's artwork.

As long as you aren't redistributing or trying to pass it off as your own work.
And of course, you can't publicly share or sell these designs.

Downloading and building pirated models is a no-no, as you are obviously aware.
Its all about respecting the work that goes into designing these models.
Piracy is about stealing the credit and rewards by redistributing someone else's work.

Being part of a community like this, sharing your ideas, and projects, and getting to know the people involved, is the best place to be.
Stay away from any site that isn't shared, discussed and approved here.

Oh, I just saw your tags: 4x4 dakar, etc
So I guess your subjects is race cars.
What scale?

Are we talking RC cars like Zip Zaps? When my son was into those, I started buying two of things when he wanted one. One for him and one for me. I can see the enjoyment of creating unique bodies for them.

I’m into small scale crawling. Rock crawling, technical driving etc.
Scale is mostly around 1:35 at the moment up to 1:24.
Currently really liking to work on the “Orlandoo Hunter” chassis.
I do some with plastic kits but really getting into the paper world as it’s so much easier for me to design and build myself.

Thanks for your comments on piracy and using artwork modding etc...
I assume if in doubt credit the original source as much as possible. 👌🏽

The chassis Im Using are the orlandoo Hunter kits.
They are 1:32nd and 1:35th scale mostly. They are slow technical rockcrawlers with full 4x4 capability, independent suspension etc.
The paper approach is really great at this scale as it’s so light and so fan’t to go from design to prototype.

paper replika has a few videos on making foam models. The F35 build is worth the twenty minutes. Foam might be a little more durable for your application.

(OK, 45 minutes. But still an enjoyable 45 minutes).
