Hi Y'all

My name is Steven Perry. I live in Homosassa, Florida. (Central West Coast)

I have recently become fascinated with paper card models after seeing what can be done with them. There are some real modeling masterpieces out there.

I have built everything from 1:144 to 1:32 scale plastic kits and Peanut scale paper and stick to balsa to foamies to my 41% Extra and a turbine trainer. Notably absent in that list of scales and media are paper card models. At least until this past week when I managed to cobble together a 1:24 scale Link Trainer. It proudly demonstrates just about every paper card newbie mistake possible to make with this design, which is why I didn't toss it. It serves as an excellent reminder.
My interests lie mainly with WWI aircraft, but I stray into other areas especially if there is some interesting history behind the airplane or a particular pilot who flew it.
Right now I am on the steep section of the learning curve in skills, techniques and tools. I learn a lot from reading build logs, but I'm not shy and don't hesitate to ask questions if I can't come across the answer any other way.
Looking forward participating in the forums getting to know some of y'all and improving my card modeling skills.

Welcome, you've come to the right place. You'll find the whole community eager to share their knowledge with you. Who knows, your paper modeling experiences might teach us a thing or two.

Dear Steven:
I bet you built the Link Trainer from Ralph Currell's paper model site in Canada? I had it 1/2 done and discovered that there is an original one in a local Museum and I now will go back and do it again only print on 11x17 card stock
Enjoy,
Miles

Thanks for the warm welcome y'all. I tried to respond earlier, but I don't think it took.

Miles
Do take some photos if the opportunity presents itself. Yes it was Ralph Currell's model.
