I have just come into the possession of 2 Horton model aircraft kits, a DH82 Tiger Moth complete apart from the instruction book and a DH89 Air Atlantique Dragon Rapid complete. Both Boxed in very good condition. Price list inside dated August 1995. Do I build these for my grand kids or are they worth anything?
If I build them does anyone know where I can get an instruction manual for the Tiger Moth

Hello Ian, and welcome to the forum. It's your decision on what to do with your kits, but I should point out that second-hand paper/card kits, even rare ones, fetch very little on the open market. I would build them and have a bit of fun doing so.

I can't help you with the instructions I'm afraid, but I'm sure someone here could come up with a useful suggestion.

Hi Ian,
Gut feeling says build them with as opposed to for your Grandkids. Try to involve them in it as much as you can - could be they are quite interested in it which may depend on how you sell the idea to them. I don't know the age group but assume the youngest, so that would (judging on my own experience with my own kids!) mean relatively short attention span or until they are distracted by their siblings or find something more fun to do!
I check out the kit and see whats the easiest or most rewarding and try to make it as easy as possible for them to do, or partially do that step.
Welcome to the forum. You'll get some great ideas and see some interesting/inspiring methods. Theres usually an answer to a question you ask as well. I've become hoked in only a few months largely due to the nature of my job, current circumstances and the lockdown as well.

First, Ian, welcome aboard. Second, most kits follow a numerical sequence for construction which, hopefully, your Tiger Moth does. See if you can locate a diagrammatic representation of the plane which could contain clues to the build. Third, take a look at the instructions for the other kit as it might follow a construction system that could be applied to the Moth.

Of course there just might be a knowledgeable soul in the Forum who has a copy of the instructions. Knowing this lot it's more than possible. In any event, once more, welcome aboard.
