Greetings from Canada

Hi folks! I'm a new member here, but recognize many here already by name and good reputation from other related forums. I'm always glad to see more interest and promotion happening for this incredible hobby. I've been building and designing card models for about 3 or 4 years now, and am addicted. While I'm too busy in RL to devote the time I'd like to give, I haven't strayed from my goals, and always have about 5 or 6 projects on the go, both on the design front, and the builds as well. It takes me longer now, with 3 kids and an extremely busy job, but I still get there!

Looking forward to sharing with you fine folks.

Welcome to the fold! What are your current designs you have in the works?

Re: Greetings from Canada

I'm still finishing up the Outland Shuttle build, chronicled over at zealot
http://www.zealot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=157031

I'm also finishing up a couple of Independence War models (also science fiction stuff, some of which is to be found here http://www.iwarpapermodels.org/content/index.htm) still in development, a space craft from the Honor Harrington universe (seen here http://www.zealot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=161828), the Al Rafik frigate sized ship from the Attack Vector Tactical starship combat boardgame, and an original design or two still in the metasequoia modelling stage.

Oh I guess I should've mentioned I make mostly science fiction stuff.

Re: Greetings from Canada

As an FYI we are in the process of developing a SCI-FI game here based on all paper. Most likely multi phase (space combat, ground combat etc) sooooo original stuff will go along nicely!

Re: Greetings from Canada

Chris, about the game, what do we have YTD?

I am currently re-writing skirmish rules for Ultimatum to the Earth and given that they are free (they are a modification of previous free rules) you could take them under consideration.

Re: Greetings from Canada

As you can see, I'm just a wee bit behind here. Good to see you here Hot4Darmat. I like your IW models, picked them up some time ago. Also been following your Outland shuttle thread for quite awhile now.

One thing's been bothering me. Could you explain what your nic means? ;D

Been gone awhile but now I'm back

Well that was a fair gap. A decade plus.

R/L got very busy and my focus shifted away from modelling. Oddly, I recently stumbled on a few things I had built that weren't destroyed by time or humidity, and started surfing paper modelling images again....and lo. Nice to be back and see your shining faces. I'm going to try to knock the rust off my skills and build the Roci/Tachi. I'll throw up some images when I get a chance.
