Architectural Modeler Newbie

Hi Everyone!
I am George and I just received the Domus paper model kit Cathedrale S. Basilio as a gift. I am excited about starting this complicated piece and look forward to checking out other model makers and their experiences and tips. Glad to be a new forum member and thanks for letting me join!

Welcome! And enjoy.

Maybe download a simpler paper model building to start - just to get your hand in.

I built a Mayan Temple which is maybe ideal for a starter as it has many square shapes to practice on. Have a look here where I also did a build thread that may help if you want to try this model. It will help develop your techniques.

Welcome to the forum George. You'll find this a very amicable enviroment. Kevin has a point but I have to tell you my first paper model ever was the Prague castle. :D And it turned out ok and is still hanging on our wall after 30 years. Go for it!

Hello George, and welcome. I haven't built St Basil's, but I have done a couple of other Domus kits. I share the view of some others here that the fit of parts leaves something to be desired and that building can be a bit of a struggle. But it's in front of you and you have a knife and a tube of glue. Go for it!

Hello George,
welcome from Italy!
It makes me smile to think about my first buildings (now I'm all but expert ), I believed that a round-pointer office scissors and a glue stick were sufficient...
Take your time, try and not be afraid to make mistakes, in case just reprint and restart.
It's very funny to build with paper!
