Hello to all. I am a modeler in paper for many years -- mostly architectural subjects, but sometimes vehicles also. I would like to make a pre-dreadnaught warship but they seem very difficult. Perhaps I can do this as my skills improve.

Welcome! I look forward to seeing some pictures of your models.

As for Pre-Dreadnaughts, they look impressive when finished, but don't have to be all that difficult. Many of them have cylindrical turrets, for instance, compared with the complex shapes of WWII era battleships.

There are a couple of excellent pre-Dreadnaughts available for free download on David Hathaway's "PaperShipwright" website. They are waterline models also which avoid complex underwater hull shapes.

Digital Navy also has a nice model of Dreadnaught herself, if you're interested.

Have fun!
