Smile Hello from Colorado!

Hi all,

My name is Chesley, but most folks call me lee- easier to pronounce. I'm interested in building some paper models, and was hoping to learn how to do it here. I've building for a long time, but not in paper. I've got my eye on a 1/33 Myasishchev M-50 I found on another site- this one-

Anybody familiar with this company? I hope they are reputable. I've got the Fiddler's green free wind turbine, and will try that out this weekend. Thanks in advance for your help!

Cheers,

Lee

Lee,

Unfortunately, it is a known pirate site.

The Mon models from the former East Germany/Poland are no longer in print, and any offer you see online outside of an online store(going for big money) are more than likely pirated scans.

Hi Lee

Are you the same Lee White who does that awesome work over at Large Scale Planes? If so, you are going to just love this place!!!

I ran into the same wall when I first found paper models, like wow man, a 1/33 M-50...then oh...it's not legal...but someone here is designing one in 1/33 or 1/48 (apa-168?). If you have a look over at www.ecardmodels, you'll see the state of the art B-58 in 1/32 and XB-70 that Kenlwest designed and that are available for purchase at costs that make plastic modelers eyes grow wide in amazement (well, mine did anyway) and there are many more available for either purchase or free download - and there's little link between model quality, size of complexity and its acquisition status i.e. free or purchase...

Hope you enjoy yourself over here...

Namaste Lee.
I, too, am new here. But welcome.
I build sci-fi mostly. If I build a aircraft, ship, or car it will be modified into something sci-fi. :D

I look forward to seeing your builds as well, though. Just cuz I build SF doesn't mean I don't appreciate good model building.

Cheers.
Nikita

Hey SPJOniell,

Yes, I am the same Lee as on LSP- Good to see you here! I've always been interested in paper models, but never really tried one- go figure. I really like the bang for buck potential of some of these models. I'll check the ecard site for the M-50. Thanks for the heads-up!

Lee

Lee, just did a check and the Bounder is 1/48 and still under development. Of course the beauty of paper models is that it is relatively simple to change the scale to suit...I have the Hobby Models Tu-160 in 1/33 and it is 1.7m long when complete. My good lady has already advised that it will have to get a lot colder before I display any models that size in the house so it'll be a quick pass through a scanner and re-output as 1/48 to go with Ken's XB-70...

After I commented here, I saw your post on our group email a day or so later. :D
I didn't connect the two. :o
