Just a quick hello
I joined a couple of days ago, I've not seen my posting so I thought I'd try again.
I was introduced to card modeling in the mid 50's by my dad. He use to build fairly large commercial jet models....... I "helped"!! :-) Sure you did kid..anyway the interest stuck. This looks like a good group to watch and learn from....... Thanks, Swampfox |

Thanks for the welcome.
I enjoy building all kinds of aircraft, I recollect seeing a flying machine at Kitty Hawk, NC about 100 years ago or so and have found the aeroplane quite an invention. I will post some examples of my work soon. I left the Carolina swamps to get a new perspective on the world and the mountains of Colorado offer me that chance.... |

Ah yes! the Rockies do have their allure but the Appalachians do have their be-witching ways. So are we looking for something Post Orville and Wilbur, with two wings?

Swampfox,
Welcome to the fold. I bet your dad purchased the models from PMI when John Hathaway owned the company. Jim Nunn

Can't argue that the Appalachians are beautiful I've spent some great Falls there...... The Great Smoky Mountains are stunning in all kinds of weather.... >So are we looking for something Post Orville and Wilbur, with two wings? I've actually built a number of aeroships from the early/pre-1903 days......... and I like to build examples from all country's. I'm a bit of an aviation historian so I tend to wonder all over the subject matter. That way I don't get bored with building the same 'ol same oh. And yes, several with "Two Wings". I'll post some images of my builds in the next couple of days. What kind of subjects do you build buy the way? |

What kind of subjects do you build buy the way? [/QUOTE] I jump around. Sci Fi peaks my interest and Aviation also but planes have those spindly bits that break all the time and they do not handle moving and shipping very well. Presently I have another passion and that is early Americana, such as horse drawn wagon and such. My last build was of the Physicians Buggy aka, Amish and Mennonite courting wagon. At the moment I am getting my designer stuff ready for a civil war limber and caisson. I should be posting the build thread soon. |
