Hello from California

Greetings everyone. My name is Wayne and I'm from Ridgecrest, California. A small town in the Mojave Desert not far from Death Valley. Its getting that time of year, too hot to go outside, so I thought I would give paper modeling a go. I found it accidently at work one day messing around on the web. I printed 3 or 4 models and am currently working on my first build. Thought I would start easy and chose an R2-D2 model. Not really a huge SW fan, but it looked fun. Can't wait to see it completed. Not really in any hurry, figure if I rush through it, it would show in the end. Looking forward to bigger and harder pieces in the future.

Welcome, Wayne. The good thing about living in Ridgecrest is that you won't have to wait long for the glue to dry in that atmosphere! I hope you find the people here as helpful and supportive as I have.

Welcome, Wayne. I'm from Santee (San Diego County). It's much cooler here, but I love the Mojave. Been through your nice little town several times, but I've never actually stopped. Hope to see you around the forum.

Ah, yes, I see you live at the north end of the Mojave. I live in the south end, in Pearblossom....well, at least for 2 more weeks...moving back to northern Cal.
