Beginner modeler saying hi!

Hi! I have to say that paper modeling is addictive. I started a week ago and have built 4 Fiddlers Green models! I used to do plastic models, but that has so many cons compared to paper modeling. The plastic models aren't that expensive by themselves, but when you add together the cost of paint, decals, pilots, and whatever else you want to add to the model, it costs more, and takes more time, paper modelers can just print out the model they want and assemble! To me it's much more fun and more convenient as the closest hobby shop is hours away from me.:( I'm working on a Fiddlers Green P-39 so expect to see pictures of it soon!

Welcome and fun building

I started with fg models as well and found them all to be enjoyable to build. (and play with, flying them, ect ...:D)

I also jumped into papercraft with both feet and fell in love very quick. This hobby is great for me because it is basiclly free

and I am basiclly poor:(
I foresee years of enjoyment for you with this great pasttime. Plus, there are thousands and thousands of models to choose from.
Are you just into planes? What other interests do you have? Cuz I bet there are models out there that suit all of our crazy interests.

Welcome to the forum there is some nice free kits in the downloads here as well as a few other sites like canon and that is before you even think of spending a cent on anything other than glue, ink and card.

Welcome to the most fun, least expensive hobby with no bounds. FG was a good place to start - there is so much to choose from and they are easy builds. And you are so right - PAPER MODELING beats plastic modeling hands down. I have a bunch of kits that I don't know if I'll ever get to or care to!
