Hello everyone

Just saying hi to everyone. I've always had a bit of trouble with paper models; though in hindsight, it was probably due to me rushing in to rather complex models (i.e. The zeppelin which is now gathering dust in my shed). Anway, i'm hoping to get better, and maybe, in time, I will.

Welcome to the forum. If you check out the "first cuts lounge" and tips and tricks sections I am sure you will find some helpful information. If not just ask.

Howdy

Welcome aboard, Flypaper (may I call you Flypaper?):D

I am pretty new to this forum and papermodeling in general, but I've found that it is quite easy to learn quickly - because you can try, try and try again with little grief. Practice plus the fine advice and examples from the forum(s) really has made my time 'pulping' fun. Here at PM, lots of guys/gals sharing their experiences which is very cool and very helpful. So, dive right in and enjoy!

Here is a little thing about using the forum - when you Reply, you are automatically 'subscribed' to that thread. Subscribed threads are then easily listed using the "Quick Links' drop-down menu. You will then, as a default, also get updates to subscribed threads via your email. I'm really impressed with the forum's interface, it works very well.

Cheers!

Hi Flypaper,

Great to have you join! The complex will be easy after a couple of builds.

What type of models do you like best?

Best regards,
Mike Bauer

Mostly sci-fi stuff, from star trek, doctor who etc. I also like models to do with aviation, warfare and all things nautical. Thanks for asking :D

Welcome to the forum Flypaper glad to have you here. i have only been building with paper for a short time also one thing that i love about this hobby is if you screw up you can always reprint and start over till you get it right. i started out with a couple of complex models (Gunstar and SDF1) and was a bit discouraged when they turned out poorly. so i went back to the basics and did a bunch of easier models till i got the skills down i needed for the tougher ones. trust me in a few weeks your skill will develop. if you have any questions don't hesitate to post there is always someone that can help you out on a build.
