Hello from Alabama Yankee!
Hello,
I'm new to the site and am enjoying all the wonderful information that's posted. This is definitely the best site for this hobby! I've been a plastic modeler for most of my life, but have dabbled with paper modeling. A friend of mine in NY (you know him as "PAPER FAN") got me started on it. I began the 1/200 GPM Alaska and had a pretty good start on it, but it was destroyed during the move from NY to AL. What's left of the hull now belongs to my 6-year old son who still finds good use for it. Besides a plastic project or two, I am now starting the 1/200 GPM Missouri with laser-cut frames and photo-etch. I hope that it's fate is better than the Alaska's. Sincerely, Mike Schmanke "Alabama Yankee" |

Hmmm... Alabama Yankee... Isn't that sort of like Jumbo Shrimp, or Military Intelligence, or Almost Pregnant? :D
Welcome to the forum! It's always great to have another shipbuilder here. Looking forward to your builds with great anticipation! Cordially, Lancer (Georgia Native, living in South Carolina!) |

Hi Mike,
Welcome to the site. I understand about how moves can effect a "Great" model like the Alaska. Had to throw some out not to long ago. Best regards, Mike Bauer |
