Prudenzio Contest Le Marquis de Palmero

Hopefully a quick respite from planes in between the frustrating Stuka and what looks to be a more fun one, the SM 79. Thought I'd like to try my hand at one of these figure models. This one has a photo for the face instead of artwork and I suspect it's the smiling face of Zio himself. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

I'm not quite sure if there's and assembly order so I'm just building parts at random, hoping they'll all fall together eventually.

Can't confirm that it is Zio, but did notice there are extra pieces to make the moustache and beard appear more 3d.

Yes, the extra pieces do help, especially the moustache.

It wouldn't be hard to add more dimension to the face by adding a brow layer and recessing the face behind the cowl opening. I probably won't do another figure, at least not until the mounted Agincourt figures are uploaded, but when I do, it'd be fun to try and add as much dimension as possible. In the meantime, I'm having a good time on this one; it goes together well overall.

Got this finished up while sitting in front of the TV. I really enjoyed this kit and I'm looking forward to the release of the mounted knights. Now it's back to the airplanes!

Wow! You are really turning out a lot of high-quality Zio models of all descriptions. This is a very striking figure.

That looks great! Wonderful model, and very nicely built! Any chance we could see some more shots from other angles?

Sorry these photos aren't better, but the sun's not quite high enough in the sky yet and this castle lighting is terrible.

And through the magic of paper technology, his helmet even fits;

That came out great Chris! I like it a lot. I was wondering who that smiling man behind the helmet was. With permission from Zio, it wouldn't be too hard to put anybody's face in there. With a change of heraldry on the shield, anyone can be a knight in shining armor.

Don't worry about the light! The model is very well fitted. This result makes me want to assemble some of those models that have stored!

Hmmm...by freeing up the hand by placing the helm on the head, it might be possible to have the pose with the sword in hand, and shield attached to the other hand...it wouldn't exactly be a battle pose, but maybe depict a panting interval between jousts?
