Thanks Chris, also for the heads up on the wheels. I'll look into the wheel problem soon and let you know what I come up with, if anything. John

Gotta start again BIG OPS

I noticed that I neglected to recess the rear deck so the cat has a new toy. I will start over and maybe can do a slightly better job.
Chris, I see the problem getting the tires in the wheel well. I eliminated the boxy axle and glued the tire directly to the frame. The axle will be altered in PSP to fit the needs of this smaller version and I will use it on the next build. Wish I had a laser cutter. :-) John

The re-build is underway with no mistakes yet.
Chris, the old build is in the shot also to show the wheel attached as discribed in the last post. I have made a modification to the axles so there shouldn't be a fit problem on this build. John

The wheel looks great, John. Hopefully, this build will go smoother.

So far mistake free and one step further, the hood is in place. I find it interesting that these builds one behind the other produce slightly different results. Folds and cuts made being made a fraction of a mm off really shows in these small scales. I can see that scaling down creates other problems. Since the card thickness wasn't scaled down with the model things don't fit as in the original 1/35 model. But if you really want the model, in this case a Kubelwagon, you scale it and put up with the grief. John

I'm a slow builder, good thing I have until August. The floor board has been inserted as well as the back seat. Wheels have always given me trouble so I have been fussing with the one on the hood. It took a couple trys but I think I have a way now of making them look like a wheel. Problem is, I have to make four more. Also, I have to admit I made another mistake on the second build. I intended to print the shovel on the side as I did with the first build. When I noticed that I had forgotten, it was too late and I had to cut it out and attach with glue, which gives a nice 3D effect. Not sure what I'll tackle next, might get those wheels done. John

Chris, you expressed interest as to how I was going to attach the wheels. The pic 009 shows that I attached the wheels directly to the sides of f1 and f2. The only piece of f5 and f6 used was just the bottom. It was put in place after the wheels to cover the white areas on f1 abd f2. Pic 010 shows all wheels attached and next I'll be looking how the heck I'll be able to cut out and affix those many small parts. John

That assembly certainly works as well as the fully formed axle pieces. It looks good!
