Wait, aren't those the four horsemen of the apocolypse?

Your car looks so nice that I'm getting the bug to build a train.

Thanks for the comments guys. Master Yu I would like to see an entry in this little competition from you. Zio has a nice selection of rail models.

Yes I build non-floaty things. Ships are fun but the gratification of finishing something can take a while. Zio's models are a nice compromise between build detail and build time and that is part of the fun in building them.

More pix as promised with a camera capable of capturing every wrinkle and wart. I don't have a solution to coupling the various cars but I like the idea of just lining the up close together.

Splendid non-floaty thing, Douglas! It has inspired me to download much of Zio's rolling stock.

I don't know if this will help on the coupler issue, but when I was a wee little one, I had a paper train that came to me as activities in a magazine on the inside back cover. Each car of the month had an image of the single coupler and one of 'coupled' couplers. This was used between cars that were together, glued to each car. The concept should work here. You might even devise a creative way to attach that isn't quite as permanent.

During the period in which these wagosn were in service in Italy, what kind of couplings did they use? Since the wagon has buffers, did they use the same kind of three-link chain used on British railways, or something like the American AAR or Russian SA-3 coupler?

Don
based on the model parts I would say it looks like a traditional chain and bumper coupling
