Zio Prudenzio Contest - Carro L (garitta)

I'm building the Carro L (garitta). It is HO scale, consists of two pages of parts and one page of instructions. So far it has not presented any problems and the build diagrams have proven excellent. The little cabin is just sitting there (not glued) for the picture.

Excellent, Douglas. Are you going to build a string of railway wagons? If so, what are you going to use for couplings?

Thanks Don. That's the plan. The models include couplers but, they are more decorative than functional. Some thought will be required.

Nicely done so far! I look forward to seeing a whole consist of Zio's wagons. It may just be my eye, but I think his rail equipment has a more accurate look than a lot of the aircraft. I especially like the snow plow car.

I have the same impression as Chris. The railway and motor vehicle models seem to be particularly accurate.

I look forward to seeing your project prosper, Douglas. Now that you have the brake wagon for the tail end, you can work toward that splendid locomotive.

Thanks guys.

I hope to build at least one more car and the engine prior to the deadline. The detailing on this car is very nice. There are alot of layering parts included and I am adding a few more as I go. The only problem I have had so far is that at this scale some of the parts are minute. I lost one part 3 times .

I had to re-do this one due to problems I had (self induced) fitting the sides. More pictures to follow once I charge the battery in my good camera.

OMG...it gets worse. Now our guru of all things nautical is making a train. The world will end.....and if you come up with a good system for the couplers, I would sure like to hear about it. I'm thingking if I just set the cars close enough together on the track, no one will notice. Clean build...and when you loose a fiddly bit, check your keyboard...I found one of the sliders for my choo-choo glued to the side of my "P" key, and a few more reside somewhere under the spacebar.
