Cannon Giraffe

Took a break from a marathon build to finish this one up for a Yule gift. If you haven't built one of these great animals, you should give them a try, the fit is excellent.

Very nice. I know who I would give it to if I built it, so maybe I will do just that.

A nice tidy build - Well done

It's nice of Canon to release all these models free.

I have seen some of these animals put on bases with fake grass

My wife could care less about cars, planes, and all the other "guy" stuff, but she loves the animal models. Other free sites, too, have interesting animal models, but Canon's seem to be a cut above the others.

Beautiful builds of this model. I'm particularly impressed by the way they stand perfectly balanced on their feet.

On the subject of Canon models, has anybody else noticed that there seem to be more than one Cannon site? A link at Papermau led me to three simple, cute little models of cactus plants, from Canon. Yet when I tried finding them again through the customary link to Canon, not even searches for plants or cactuses turned them up.

An Epson or HP site from Hong Kong offers more models than does the company's world website, so I must wonder what other Canon kits might be hidden at some special location.

Yes, I have noticed that some of those sites in their native language sometimes offer more models than on the English language site.

Canon used to have a site with paper models of worldwide figures in local costumes but it has been unavailable for many years. The wayback machine has a link to the site.

One of the tricks i use is to put weights in the lower legs (feet?) to help them stand steady, they get knocked over easy, they are so light just a bump and down they go. I put 1/4 bolts in the legs of the Giraffe, and worked out great....Rich
