Some one page Canon Critters

Hi Guys and Gals,
Thought I would share some pictures of some of the one page Canon Papercraft critters I have built.
As with the F.G. T-Rex model,,,
I try to build them so I can put them anywhere I want to.
So I build them without the bases.
I like to take them for walks,,, ( HE HE )
and shoot pictures of them outside in our yard.
So for your enjoyment are the following critters.
The Japanese Striped Beetle,,,
The Veiled Chameleon,,,
The 7 spotted ladybug,,,
and the Swallowtail Butterfly.
Enjoy and Best Regards,
musicman

I couldn't resist the Veiled Chamelion. My son breeds them. Putting the card one in with them sparked off the most amazing colour displays by the males. He's never once seen them displaying like that in the four years he's been breeding them. Mind you, it was bigger than even his four year olds.

Johnny.

Very Cool John.
That would be a fantastic thing to video if you can do it again
with the same result.
Then think about posting it on youtube.
Alot of folks would enjoy seeing it for sure.
Let me know if you decide to do it, OK?
By the way.
How large do those critters get?
Best Regards,
Gary

As I said Gary, his four year olds are not as big as the Canon one, but if you can keep them alive long enough they will grow to around 12" long.

It's quite damp in the vivarium, and the colours of card cham didn't last too long in there. So I'd have to make another one to try it again. We live in different countries though, so I'm not too sure when we'll meet again.

Incidently, that was his facebook avatar in my post. He would dearly love a 3D model of this, if any of our eggspurt designers are looking for a challenge!! Way beyond my capabilities I'm afraid. I have enough trouble just building such things.

Johnny.

Thanks for the info John.
And I think the avatar is really a cute one.
Maybe you can contact Murph, or one of the designers that work with Fiddlers Green about turning the avatar into a model.
The one that designed the F.G. Herring Gull model is from the UK.
Bet your son would love it. And alot of us other modelers as well.
If you care to PM me we can trade e-mail addresses.
That way you can let me know if you do the video.
I would enjoy seeing it.
I had pet turtles when I was a youngster.
And had a pet Iguana when I was in college.
As you can tell from most of my posts, and my avatar,,,
I'm a cat person.
My kitties help me with my builds too.
I see from your ID that you live in North Wales, UK.
Been to England twice,,, LOVED IT.
So please concider keeping in touch.
Best Regards,
Gary

If size is an issue, print it out on half a page. For the frogs and things I leave in the nursing home day room (amongst the plants next to the goldfish pond), I seal the page, build it, seal it again, then hit the inside as best I can, then seal the outside again. Overkill for my application, but it would be necessary for this use. You'd probably want to let it air for a couple months before you put it in there, though. The fumes might not be good for them.
