My original contact was through Paper Replika though Rich. As quoted in post #178. (The link is still not working at the moment)

The .pdf offered there was delivered in a zip file, but this only contained a .pdo file. This .pdo is useful in working out the shapes and where the parts go, but the 2D unfolded pages have not been moved around into a convenient print order, and many parts overlap onto different pages, so it's just not a feasible print out.

The Paper-Replika page gave me Egon's contact email, which resulted in him sending me the model in .pdf format. Again, they are uncoloured, and are meant to be printed on coloured papers.

With The Gimp I have manipulated the parts a bit and bucket filled them all so they can be printed onto white card, but I've not gone as far as to pixel edit the resultant anomalies. I just accepted that it would be necessary to paint them out after construction.

Also, the Egon's designs do not have any tabs added, so I am constructing it using seam tapes, and trying to get less obvious seams. Not that I am greatly succeeding in this, but after a little burnishing and filing, the final coat of paint might improve things.

I spent a long time stroking those thighs , but the ridges are still very prominent ... And nothing within my skills will change the square section arms.

Keep on snippin' ... Johnny.

Ancient Road Runner

After much burnishing and thumbnail stroking, we now have two thighs and two calves.

I want to get the lower legs and feet made up as well before I attempt to assemble or attach the legs . I'm not too sure about access to glue tabs or reinforcing support. It will be easier to decide the assembly order when I can test fit all the leg parts together.

Keep on snippin' ... Johnny.

Of course, now that I have an A3 printer, I could double size this ...

Now that should have an effect on the neighbor's cats, and come to think of it, with room to get a hand inside, it would actually be quite a bit easier to build.

Johnny.

And today we gained a foot. Just the one. The other one is the cut out bits alongside it.

The hard bit on this was deciding where to start. Egon obviously got fed up with sorting out the part numbers on this page, 'cos every part has got a R31 number tag on it. I started at the back and worked around 'til I got back again. ie. leaving the back seam (with the awkward spur) for last. Real frustration, involving one tab at a time as every seam is on the curve. For the next foot I'm going to start at the centre front, working backwards in both directions to again finish with the back seam.

Another day tomorrow, now where's that brandy?

Johnny.

Antieque Road Runner

We now have all the bits to make the legs. Starting at the front of the foot and working both sides to the back did work out easier and neater. The back seam was still a bu**er though.
Assembly starts tomorrow.

Having dry fitted the parts together, I don't think the assembly is gonna be as hard as I was expecting. They don't fit together perfectly, but they should be adequately bodgeable. It'll be pot luck with the pose though.

Keep on snippin' ... Johnny.
