Doug - like your cardinal!
I see you also built its base. Have never built a base myself - seems like too much effort. Usually use a twig in a pot or jam jar.

Just to let you all know I haven't deserted "The Birds" thread. I have been busy with some very small 'Big Silver Birds' lately, but I have been looking in here too.
A few more birds have appeared on my TV though, as I need something simple to do between the fiddly bits on the main build. Needless to say, that TV doesn't get used very often ... And my postwoman has dropped off a few more that I'm looking forward to getting to grips with ... That should keep me busy 'til Xmas, eh? Keep on snippin' ... Johnny. Hi all,
I'm federico from italy and this is my first post. I'm a beginner and I've built just two little models: a fokker EIII and Anazawa's snowy owl, both are birds I think I hope to learn a lot about the paper model build in this forum. All your suggestions are welcome! Here is a photo of my models, bye! -- federico (sorry for my poor english) |

Welcome, Frederico. and you did an outstanding job on two 'not-for-beginner' models. Don't worry about your English. Thanks for sharing

Welcome to "The Birds" thread Federico.
That's a nice build of the Cannon male Snowy Owl. Well done. Did you know they also do a female to go with it? See my post #24 of this thread http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/o...tml#post348993 Canon list it under animals. I look forward to seeing more from you. Keep on snippin' ... Johnny. |

Following an HMV link from one of Benjamin Fentens posts I stumbled upon these ...
All available from here ... Tiere - Artikel - www.kartonmodellbau.de They also have a full set of BirdMobile models, and loads and loads of other non bird stuff of course. I've left some strong hints around for Xmas pressies, but if I don't get them, I'll be stacking them up on the credit card come New-Year. Keep on snippin' ... Johnny. PS: I now have nine BirdMobile models. Does any one know if that is ALL of them? Last edited by JohnM; 11-27-2013 at 06:10 PM. |

Hi Ben,
Thanks for that. I guess Malcolm Topp never did get his Golden Eagle finished then. Now wouldn't that have been amazing in 1:1 ? I'm holding back on the credit card now until Xmas gets cleared, but come New Year I'll definitely be looking to buy these seven kits from you. Did I see mention of a UK outlet in one of your posts? I can't wait to see my local birds' reaction to them if I stand them in the window. Especially the house sparrows. I get about six visits a day from a gang of around fifty of them. They actually knock on the windows when the feeders run low. There's a lone Magpie that often comes in with them, and by watching the sparrows he has learned how to hang onto the fatball cage. It's quite fun to watch him, as he isn't really very acrobatic, but he is getting better. The squirrel proof seed feeder has so far defeated him though. Keep on snippin' ... Johnny. |
