Apologies for a misdirection ... The Cranes are from Yamaha, not Conon.

Today I made nothing! Sorry ... I got my nose stuck in a book.

Johnny.

I'm afraid I gotta go with Legion on that.

Sure she builds some really beautiful works of art, but none of her birds have the life-like look.

And here's the next one from Johan's book. The Goldfinch.

Toothpicks were long enough for these legs, but I found them too thick ... leaving an unsightly gap along the back of the leg ... so again I used the paper clip wires. Leaving them in position this time ... 'cos the superglue wouldn't let me take the legs off the wires.

This model would benefit from using tapes instead of tabs. Especially on the chest seams, which are difficult to burnish flat. A good match on the yellow edge colouring is also needed, or it will look terrible.

Keep on snippin' ... Johnny.

Next the Bluebird ... y'all seen this before but Rich saw fit to hide it in a cage.

Pretty straight forward this one, but I had difficulty getting the head to fit and cover the grey area. Water-colour pencils to the rescue.

Just noticed from the photo ... the backs of the wings need a touch of colour too.

Keep on snippin' ... Johnny.

Nice looking bird models. Yep, I have noticed some extra coloring helps in the display.

question...

Johan Sherft Firecrest
I went to print it...and it was tiny.
Hummingbird tiny!!

I opted for "fit to page" to get it to a more reasonable size,
but its still very small.

How small is this bird supposed to be?
